September 23 – A Trotwood man arrested Monday after the Montgomery County regional SWAT team responded to his home is accused of assaulting his girlfriend and locking her in an RV for at least six time.
Edwin A. Shively IV, 38, was arraigned in the West Division of Montgomery County Municipal Court on two counts of kidnapping on Wednesday.
Trotwood Police Chief Erik Wilson said officers were called to a house in the 100 block of North Northampton Avenue on Monday afternoon for a report on domestic violence.
“One victim was described as having been assaulted by her living boyfriend and assaulted for several hours,” Wilson said at a press briefing Monday evening. “We’ve been here before for similar incidents. That’s why it was imperative to call the SWAT team and get him out.”
Shively’s resident girlfriend had visible injuries to her face, ears and arms and was taken to a local hospital, according to a statement of facts filed in court by Trotwood Police Detective Jeremy Kinder.

Kinder also filed a petition for a criminal protection order against Shively on behalf of his girlfriend. Meanwhile, a temporary protective order was issued against Shively on Tuesday for the protection of his girlfriend.
Bond was set at $ 25,000 for Shively when arraigned on Wednesday. He remains at the Montgomery County Jail, where he has been held since his arrest Monday night.
