Yngwie Malmsteen announces late 2021 U.S. tour with John 5

Neoclassical shred legend Yngwie Malmsteen has just announced a headlining US tour slated for later this year, with the support of virtuoso guitarist Rob Zombie John 5.

The race, which will find the Swedish revolutionary backing his 21st studio album, Parabellum, begins in Glenside, Pa. on Nov. 18 and will make 20 more stops, eventually ending just under a month later on Dec. 16 in Dallas, TX.

In a statement in anticipation of the next trek, Malmsteen exclaimed directly, “America! It’s time to get out of the house – I’m back and coming to you with it. Parabellum live! John 5 will provide support. “

See the full list of tour dates below.

Parabellum, released on July 23 on Music Theories Recordings / Mascot Label Group, follows 2019 Blue lightning, and, so far, the singles “Wolves at the Door” and “Relentless Fury” have preceded the summer release.

“I always try to push myself on every album that I make and try more extreme things than before,” Malmsteen said of the record, “But what helped me this time is that I couldn’t get out of the pandemic. It meant I could take a lot more time in the studio, both writing and recording. Because I’m usually still on tour, which is great, I didn’t haven’t had the luxury of spending a lot of time working on new music for over 20 years. But suddenly I didn’t have any pressure on that front. And I feel like the album has benefited tremendously. . “

Meanwhile, John 5 will headline a solo tour over the summer (see those dates here) and perform a handful of gigs with Rob Zombie before hitting the road again in support of Malmsteen.
